David McIntyre

Founder/Principal

​David McIntyre is the Founder and Managing Principal of Vesta Equity, LLC. David founded Vesta in 2008 with a vision of capitalizing on the tight real estate credit markets during the financial downturn. David has acted as Principal of the overall fund as well as Head of the Investment/Credit Committee throughout the entire life of the fund. Under his leadership and oversight, Vesta has grown from a local, small balance investment vehicle to the multi-product, national provider it is today. David continues to take the lead on all approvals and strategies within the portfolio. He also handles lead origination's for select international exposures. Prior to founding Vesta, Mr. McIntyre successfully started numerous national and international operations companies, primarily in the disaster recovery and construction industries. He continues to head these companies as acting CEO, both in the United States and abroad. David is presently a Licensed Florida General Contractor. David is based in Sarasota, FL but can often be found at his various headquarters throughout the United States and Christchurch, NZ.

​Jay Ockman is the Director of Vesta Equity. He has more than 25  years experience in the commercial and mortgage banking industries. His career includes underwriting, structuring and originating debt opportunities on a wide variety of property types including multifamily, retail, office, industrial, hospitality, condominiums and land development. He has also been active in the acquisition of investment properties of all types. Prior to coming to Vesta, Jay was a mortgage banker at Grandbridge Real Estate Capital, one of the nation’s largest full service commercial and multifamily mortgage banking firms. At Vesta, Jay is responsible for originating and underwriting bridge financing opportunities. In addition, he is responsible for day to day operations and servicing of the debt and equity portfolios. Jay earned his MBA degree from the University of New Orleans and his BS degree in Business Law from Louisiana State University.

​​Iwan has over eight years of Commercial Real Estate experience. As the Portfolio Manager with Vesta, Iwan is directly responsible for the day to day operations of the Vesta portfolio. Additionally, Iwan assists in the underwriting process, negotiating, and closing of potential investments for Vesta Equity’s bridge lending and equity placement team. Before Vesta, Iwan was a Financial Analyst and Broker at Marcus and Millichap, and part of Orlando's top-performing team specialized in commercial investment sales of Office, Industrial and Retail properties. His specific areas of expertise include strategic planning, market research, cash flow model creation, and review of historical and prospective financial information. Originally from Wales, he obtained a Law degree from the University of Swansea. Iwan's background includes a career as a professional athlete, competing on golf tours in Europe and the U.S.
