Investment Officer

We are looking to hire an Investment Officer for our company based in Sarasota, FL. The job requires the ability to take initiative and to interface with management.

Duties:

• Develop and maintain relationships with mortgage brokers, investors, and real estate developers. This will include contact with prospects, intermediaries and clients via e-mail, telephone, and personal calls
• Underwrite and structure real estate bridge loans with a focus on mitigating risk and maximizing return
• Negotiate with borrowers and intermediaries with respect to loan terms and structures
• Prepare term sheets for presentation to clients and intermediaries
• Prepare cash flow / return models for use in assessing the viability of bridge loan opportunities.
• Prepare and present approval memos to management and principals
• Perform due diligence relative to projects on which term sheets have been executed
• Maintain reports on deal status, prospects, business development, etc.
• Participate in weekly office conference meetings to discuss potential property acquisitions to be evaluated, necessary actions and/or strategies, current markets, and geographic property locations.

Skills/Requirements:

• Masters degree in Business or Real Estate preferred
• 3+ years of lending experience calling on commercial mortgage intermediaries
• Existing book of business in the Southeastern United States, preferably in the Carolinas and Texas, which would include mortgage brokers, investors, and real estate developers
• Ability to quickly assess the viability of bridge loan opportunities and provide feedback to clients and intermediaries
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Strong written and verbal skills
• Some overnight travel will be required
